Can some musician explain the differences in these two editions?
I'm afraid this version is all wrong:

ReplyDelete3 staffs of 3 measures each, plus 1 with 4 measures
in 6/8 time, mostly eighth notes, plus a few 16ths and quarters
in the key of A major
FW2 is very careless placing the many ledger lines for middle C
eg, the 1st note of the 3rd measure ('Dump') seems too high
in FW2, the words "how he" are shifted left one eightnote
those last 3 eighth notes are still B-B-C, but FW2's version is very unclear
in the 3rd measure of the 2nd staff, the 'la' in "Olafa" is a 16th note with no ledger line, where it used to be middle C, and the following 'fa' should be a D, but it's now placed too low
in the 1st measure of the 3rd staff, the last note ('the') is now a B instead of an A
the 3rd note of the 2nd measure ('the') is now clearly a G, not an A, as are both 16th notes at the end of the next measure ('of the'), and 'Hump' in the 2nd measure of the 4th staff
so do these make it sound better or worse????
does FW2 leave the note after "how he" unvoiced?
